Great value bass
I normally play a Rickenbacker that cost 15x the price of this bass, but needed something cheap and cheerful to throw in the back of the car when I'm traveling on business so I picked up one of these. For the $99 price, this is a great value bass. It looks nice, the tone is brash but clear, the neck is a touch slow but still very playable, and the intonation is pretty much spot-on.

Great guitar, Guitar Center sucks
I love the guitar, but Guitar Center is about as clueless a company to deal with as I have ever encountered.

To put it in perspective we bought a beater 09 of CL for $25 and are in the process of defretting it as a first time experiment. The 09 is a great candidate for something like that where a mis .... Great beginner instrument
I've been learning to play bass with this model for about a year and a half, and I enjoy it thoroughly. It's lighter than some instruments, but still has enough mass that it has a good tone. The neck is maybe not as slender as some fancier, faster basses, but it's still quite comfortable. It stays in tune well, and I've never had any troubles with the knobs or electronics.

With only a single pickup, and just knobs for volume and treble, you don't have much flexibility in sound. .... Read more
